Position Summary:
This role is primarily tasked with safeguarding the resort's commercial property against threats such as fire, theft, vandalism, and unauthorized access through a variety of proactive measures.
Key Responsibilities:
The essential functions listed below are illustrative and not exhaustive of all duties performed by individuals in this role:
- Successfully complete the Basic Security Officer Training Series.
- Conduct regular patrols of the resort, investigating and documenting any unusual occurrences or safety issues.
- Report and follow up on identified safety hazards.
- Prepare detailed incident and accident reports in a timely manner.
- Complete necessary security documentation related to loss prevention, safety, and policy violations.
- Identify and address suspicious individuals on the property, ensuring proper action is taken.
- Communicate any policy violations to the immediate supervisor or department head.
- Utilize proper radio communication protocols in compliance with regulations.
- Safeguard and manage access to master keys and other sensitive areas.
- Maintain a thorough understanding of resort policies and procedures.
- Monitor the resort's security systems and respond to any breaches.
- Assist emergency response teams during any incidents.
- Provide initial medical assistance to injured individuals until professional help arrives.
- Ensure accurate completion of all required logs.
- Maintain and care for Loss Prevention equipment and vehicles.
- Adhere to the Employee Handbook and standard operating procedures.
- Participate in required meetings and training sessions.
- Promote safe work practices and environments at all times.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
To excel in this position, candidates must meet the following qualifications:
Education and Experience:
- Two (2) to four (4) months of relevant experience.
Certificates and Licenses:
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
- Certification in CPR and First Aid within six (6) months of employment.
- Valid State of Hawaii Guard License.
Knowledge and Skills:
Knowledge of:
- Fire and Life Safety systems.
- Applicable laws, OSHA regulations, and codes.
- Basic record-keeping and incident reporting practices.
- Departmental policies and procedures.
- Proficiency in relevant computer applications for documentation and reporting.
- Effective business English, including spelling, grammar, and punctuation.
- Techniques for interacting with diverse individuals in various settings.
Skills in:
- Reading and interpreting safety documents and manuals.
- Writing routine reports and correspondence.
- Communicating effectively with guests and colleagues.
- Applying common sense to follow written, oral, or diagrammatic instructions.
- Resolving problems involving straightforward situations.
