Job Summary

The Field Service Engineer plays a critical role in providing customer satisfaction and generating additional sales opportunities by providing technical service and support to customers in the field and internally within the company.

Key Responsibilities
  • Installation and Repair: Install and repair X-Ray inspection systems and upgrades at customers' locations and company lab facilities.
  • Preventive Maintenance: Perform preventive maintenance on X-Ray systems to ensure optimal performance and minimize downtime.
  • Training and Support: Provide system training to customers on maintenance, operation, and programming as required.
  • Administrative Tasks: Complete all job-related paperwork and submit to the office each week, including expense reports and service reports.
  • Additional Responsibilities: Make effective use of downtime during periods in the office, including customer phone support, sales support, service/PM contract follow-up, internal project support, training, and identifying new software versions when available.
Requirements
  • Technical Knowledge: Understanding of fundamental electronic principles, basic 3-phase and single-phase power systems and components, PLC logic, and motion control systems.
  • Analytical and Problem-Solving Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues.
  • Communication Skills: Effective communication skills to interact with customers on technical and professional matters.
  • Travel Requirements: Ability to travel up to 80% to visit customer locations, with some out-of-country travel required.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Education: 2-year technical degree (electronics) or certification, or other equivalent experience.
  • Experience: 3+ years of working experience troubleshooting electronic/mechanical equipment.
  • Additional Skills: Experience with PLC repair, troubleshooting, and programming, previous experience in industrial maintenance, and Volume Graphics or CERA CT software experience.
