Lactation Coach

As a Lactation Coach at South Middlesex Opportu, you will play a vital role in supporting the health and well-being of pregnant and breastfeeding mothers through our WIC program. You will provide personalized guidance and support to help new mothers navigate common breastfeeding challenges and achieve their breastfeeding goals.

The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills, be fluent in English, Spanish, and Portuguese, and have breastfed at least one baby within the last 5 years. This position requires a reliable means of transportation and the ability to work respectfully and effectively with diverse cultural groups and socio-economic backgrounds.

Responsibilities and Qualifications
- Attends monthly staff meetings, periodic state meetings and breastfeeding conferences/workshops as appropriate
- Reads assigned books and materials on breastfeeding that are provided by the Breastfeeding Coordinator
- Participates in team meetings as requested and communicates effectively with clients and staff in other departments

Benefits and Compensation
- Estimated salary: $52,000 - $70,000 per year based on experience
