Property Clerk

Are you looking for a temporary opportunity to work with the City of Saint Paul Police Department? We are seeking a Property Clerk to assist with the receipt, disposition, and storage of vehicle evidence or property.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform intermediate-level clerical and manual work involving the receipt, disposition, and storage of vehicle evidence or property.
• Receive, log, categorize, and store property and evidence impounded by police personnel.
• Release property and evidence to properly identified claimants and maintain security of the work area.
• Collect fees, issue receipts and change, and maintain records of these financial transactions.
• Take and resolve complaints involved in the storage of evidence and property or refers the matter to higher-level personnel.

Requirements:

• A High School Diploma or General Education Development (GED) Certificate.
• Must possess and maintain a valid Minnesota Class D Driver's License, or equivalent out-of-state driver's license.

Work Schedule:

Shifts include weekends and holidays to provide 24/7 coverage. Shifts are generally 8 hours (including early mornings, days, nights, overnights); however, shift hours are negotiable. Hours may vary.

Location:

Two locations in Saint Paul: Impound Lot located at 830 Barge Channel Road and Snow Lot located at 1129 Cathlin Street (at the State Fairgrounds).

Benefits:

This temporary position is eligible for Earned Safe and Sick Time (ESST). Other benefits are not provided.
