Key Responsibilities- Work closely with providers to assist in delivering world-class care to patients.
- Provide an elevated level of customer service to all new and existing patients of the practice.
- Room patients and prepare them for provider visits.
- Take vital signs, as necessary, and accurately record them in the EMR.
- Record patient history, chief complaint, pharmacy information, and prescription lists in the EMR.
- Obtain required consents and complete necessary forms for specific visit types.
- Perform in-office testing and EKGs as needed, and properly label specimens according to SMG policy.
- Chaperone providers as required and administer vaccines and medications as ordered by the provider.
- Follow TCM, CCM, and RPM workflows if active in the practice.
- Stock rooms and monitor expiration dates of exam room supplies.
- Monitor and log medication/vaccine refrigerator temperatures.
- Assist with incoming calls, answering, triaging, and routing telephone calls as needed.
- Follow scheduling rules and direct schedules patient visits in other SMG practices.
- Review schedules to ensure providers have necessary information for patient visits.
- Schedule patient appointments and testing as ordered by the provider.
- Perform outreach to select patient groups as directed for patient care and quality.
- High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- Education from an approved medical assistant program or equivalent.
- One to three years of experience as a medical assistant preferred.
- Strong customer service excellence expected.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills required.
- Experience with EMR and Microsoft Office preferred.
