Position Summary:
As a Facilities Maintenance Specialist, you will play a crucial role in developing solutions for frequent technical challenges within our operations. Your responsibilities will include:
  • Occasionally covering for the maintenance supervisor.
  • Planning and coordinating maintenance initiatives, including head rebuilds and coolant system repairs.
  • Supporting Maintenance, Repair, and Operations (MRO) projects and efforts to reduce inventory.
  • Managing equipment Bill of Materials (BOM) in SAP.
  • Writing MRO setup requests and selecting vendors.
  • Providing technical assistance for obsolete equipment.
  • Reviewing and establishing material in MRO identified during routine maintenance.
  • Facilitating emergency materials required for equipment repairs.
  • Evaluating and devising solutions for obsolete or problematic materials.
  • Entering new and updating preventive maintenance (PM) tasks in SAP.
  • Setting up vending and auto-replenishment services for maintenance materials.

Qualifications:
To be successful in this role, you should possess:
  • A Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a related technical field, or a minimum of ten years of directly related experience.
  • At least three years of experience in a high-volume manufacturing environment.
  • Knowledge of machining processes for cast iron and aluminum, CNC programming, and tool design.
  • A strong foundation in lean manufacturing methodologies.
  • Excellent leadership and project management capabilities.
  • Well-developed communication skills, both written and verbal, along with conflict management and team-building abilities.

Preferred Skills:
Additional skills that would be advantageous include:
  • Familiarity with Siemens/Fanuc controls and CNC mechanical/electrical functions.
  • Experience with SolidWorks or similar computer-aided design software.
  • Strong judgment, planning, and analytical skills, with the ability to introduce innovative concepts into existing processes.
  • Structured problem-solving skills, including methodologies such as Shainin, Six Sigma, and Design of Experiments (DOE).
  • Experience in robotic programming and automation.
