Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Cook to join our team at Dallas Behavioral Healthcare Hospital. As a key member of our culinary staff, you will be responsible for preparing and serving high-quality meals to our patients and staff.

Responsibilities
  • Prepare and cook a variety of meals, including breakfast, lunch, and dinner, in accordance with established recipes and menu plans.
  • Maintain a clean and safe kitchen environment, adhering to all health and safety regulations.
  • Manage inventory and supplies, ensuring that all necessary ingredients and equipment are available.
  • Work collaboratively with other kitchen staff to ensure efficient and effective meal service.
  • Develop and implement new menu ideas and recipes to enhance the dining experience for our patients and staff.
Requirements
  • High School degree or equivalent preferred.
  • Valid Food Handlers Certificate required.
  • Minimum of 2 years experience as a cook in a commercial environment, preferably in a healthcare setting.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities.
Working Conditions

This is a full-time position, working up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 20 pounds of force frequently. The successful candidate will be required to stand for sustained periods of time, walk, pull, lift, raise and move objects from position to position, and perform repetitive motions of the wrist, hands, or fingers.
