EVS Supervisor

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced EVS Supervisor to join our team at Ochsner Health. As an EVS Supervisor, you will be responsible for leading a team of Environmental Services Aides in maintaining a clean and safe environment for our patients and staff.

• Supervise and lead a team of Environmental Services Aides to ensure that assigned areas are maintained in a clean and safe condition.
• Assign personnel, equipment, and supplies to ensure efficient and effective housekeeping operations.
• Coordinate and conduct employee training and development to meet established performance standards and customer service criteria.
• Respond to defects, deficiencies, and customer complaints in a timely and professional manner.
• Exhibit flexibility in scheduling and staffing practices to accommodate the needs of the unit.
• Adapt behavior to meet the specific needs of the patient population, including respect for privacy and communication style.

• 1 year of housekeeping experience, preferably in a healthcare or hotel setting.
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to work with minimal supervision and be self-directed.
• Basic knowledge of floor care and ability to operate Environmental Services equipment.

The physical demands of this job include frequently exerting 10 to 20 pounds of force to move objects and occasionally exerting up to 100 pounds of force. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions of the job.

The incumbent works in a patient care area and may be exposed to hazardous medications or hazardous waste. Duties performed routinely require exposure to blood, body fluid, and tissue. The incumbent may be at risk for exposure to communicable diseases.
