Nuclear Medicine Technologist Lead

Job Summary:

As a Nuclear Medicine Technologist Lead, you will be responsible for leading the daily operations of the Nuclear Medicine department's imaging services. This role requires a strong understanding of nuclear medicine technology and a ability to oversee quality control testing, equipment maintenance, and troubleshooting.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure quality in imaging, patient care, and workflow
  • Oversee quality control testing, equipment maintenance, and troubleshooting
  • Serve as a resource to department staff and other team members
  • Perform staff orientation, training, and coaching
  • Position patients and select anatomic and technical parameters accurately
  • Ensure all activities comply with regulatory agency standards
  • Assist in maintaining a clean, safe, and orderly department
  • Provide technical expertise in the evaluation and selection of new technology and equipment

Requirements:

  • Associate's degree or completion of a Nuclear Medicine certification program
  • Two years' experience in nuclear medicine technology

Physical Requirements:

  • Constant standing and walking
  • Frequent use of vision and depth perception for distances near and far
  • Frequent use of hearing and speech to share information through oral communication
  • Frequent use of hearing to distinguish body sounds and/or hear alarms, malfunctioning machinery, etc.
  • Frequent lifting/carrying and pushing/pulling objects weighing 0-25 lbs
  • Frequent lifting/moving of patients
  • Frequent reaching, gripping, and keyboard use/data entry
  • Occasional lifting/carrying and pushing/pulling objects weighing 25-50 lbs
  • Occasional use of vision to identify and distinguish colors
  • Occasional bending, stooping, squatting, twisting, and repetitive foot/leg and hand/arm movements
  • Rare kneeling and sitting

Required Professional Licenses and/or Certifications:

  • Basic Life Support HealthCare Provider (BLS HCP) - American Heart Association (AHA)
  • Certified Nuclear Medicine Technologist (CNMT) - Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board (NMTCB)
  • Nuclear Medicine Technology (N) Certification and Registration - American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT)
