DISHER is partnering with a leading manufacturer of general-purpose engines to fill a Calibration Engineer II position in Grand Rapids, Michigan. As a key member of the team, you will be responsible for providing technical expertise in engine calibration from prototype stage through production.
Key Responsibilities:- Develop and implement engine calibration strategies to achieve emissions, performance, and functional targets
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to recommend changes to calibration strategies, testing procedures, or engine hardware
- Perform diverse test assignments, maintaining detailed records and utilizing precision test equipment and measurement devices
- Travel to test locations and suppliers as needed
- Manage projects and document results, composing technical reports and test records
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field
- 4+ years of experience with engines, including knowledge of fuel injection calibration strategies and technologies
- Proficiency with ETAS INCA or other calibration tools, as well as experience with Engine Test Bed & Dynamometer Automation
- Strong understanding of Design of Experiments and CAN bus communication protocols, J1939 a plus
- Proactive, self-motivated individual with a sense of ownership and accountability
- Ability to learn complex systems and maintain attention to detail
