Position Summary

The Flooring Installation Technician plays a crucial role within our installation team, focusing on the preparation and execution of flooring projects in collaboration with finishers.

  • No prior experience is necessary; however, one year of experience in epoxy, urethane, or polymer flooring installation is preferred.
  • Experience in concrete polishing or industrial painting is beneficial.
  • Responsibilities include lifting and transporting raw materials.
  • Mixing and preparing polymer materials for installation.
  • Utilizing essential tools such as trowels, chipping hammers, skill saws, planetary grinders, blasters, scarifiers, and shavers.
  • Ability to install cove strips.
  • Familiarity with common products, mixing ratios, and material coverage rates.
  • Adherence to all health and safety regulations.
  • Accurate logging of work hours and proper maintenance of equipment.
  • Aiming to meet and exceed production goals.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide essential support for seamless flooring installations.
  • Prepare and load necessary equipment and supplies prior to job commencement.
  • Conduct daily safety inspections of all tools and equipment.
  • Maintain cleanliness of equipment throughout the project.
  • Assist finishers with their tasks as needed.
  • Communicate effectively with site management regarding any issues.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma preferred.
  • Must reside within reasonable proximity to major transportation hubs.
  • Willingness to travel and stay overnight as required, with all expenses covered by HTI.
  • Availability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays.
  • Physical capability to perform tasks such as kneeling, climbing, and lifting up to 50 pounds unassisted.
  • Possession of a valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
  • Must be at least 18 years old.
  • Ability to pass a pre-employment drug test and background check.
  • Authorized to work in the United States; HTI utilizes E-Verify.

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience with chipping hammers and understanding their operation.
  • Knowledge of generators and associated safety protocols.
  • Ability to operate skill saws and perform precise cuts.
  • Familiarity with planetary grinders and selecting appropriate tooling.
  • Experience with blasters, scarifiers, and shavers.
  • Capability to install cove strips effectively.
  • Understanding of product mix ratios and coverage rates.

Reporting Structure: This position reports to the Foreman/Superintendent. Management reserves the right to modify duties and responsibilities as necessary.
