Job Summary:
A restaurant server plays a vital role in ensuring a positive dining experience for our guests. This includes taking orders, answering questions about the menu and food, selling the restaurant's food and drinks, taking payment, communicating orders with the kitchen staff via the POS, seating customers, and providing exceptional customer service and cleaning.
Key Responsibilities:
- Greet and welcome guests in a warm and friendly manner, setting the tone for a memorable dining experience.
- Provide menus and make recommendations on food and beverage selections to enhance the guest's dining experience.
- Take accurate food and drink orders from guests and ensure their timely delivery, maintaining a high level of attention to detail.
- Monitor guest satisfaction throughout their meal, promptly addressing any issues or concerns, and ensuring a positive outcome.
- Ensure proper table setup, including utensils, napkins, and condiments, creating a welcoming atmosphere for guests.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, including tables, chairs, and floors, adhering to high standards of cleanliness and hygiene.
- Collaborate with the kitchen staff to ensure timely and accurate order delivery, fostering a team-oriented environment.
- Process guest payments and handle cash transactions accurately, maintaining a high level of integrity and attention to detail.
- Uphold the highest standards of cleanliness, hygiene, and safety in accordance with local health regulations, ensuring a safe and healthy environment for guests and staff.
- Collaborate with team members to create a positive and enjoyable work environment, promoting a culture of teamwork and excellence.
- Stay updated on menu items, daily specials, and any changes to food and beverage offerings, ensuring a high level of knowledge and expertise.
- Attend training sessions and staff meetings as required, staying informed and up-to-date on company policies and procedures.
- Adhere to company policies and procedures, including those related to alcohol service and responsible serving practices, maintaining a high level of professionalism and integrity.
- Provide assistance to other team members as needed, demonstrating a willingness to help and support colleagues.
Requirements:
- Knowledge of food and beverage service procedures, including menu management and inventory control.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and team-oriented environment.
- Excellent customer service skills, with a friendly and approachable demeanor, and the ability to handle difficult situations with professionalism and poise.

- Must have a valid Food Handlers Certification, with a high level of knowledge and understanding of food safety and sanitation regulations.
- Must have an Alcohol Service Licensing or certification, with a high level of knowledge and understanding of responsible serving practices.
- Ability to learn cash register software used by bar or restaurant POS, with a high level of enthusiasm and willingness to learn.
Education and Experience:
- Must be at least eighteen years old, with a high level of maturity and responsibility.
- Previous experience as a server or in a similar customer service role is preferred, with a high level of knowledge and understanding of food and beverage service procedures.
Physical Requirements:
- Capable of standing for extended periods, lifting and carrying trays, and performing tasks that involve bending, stooping, and reaching, with a high level of physical stamina and endurance.
- Must be able to lift at least 15 pounds, with a high level of physical strength and ability.
