Job Summary

As a Phlebotomist I at PathGroup, you will be responsible for performing daily phlebotomy activities accurately and on time. This role involves interacting with clients, patients, and other PathGroup personnel in a professional and courteous manner.

Key Responsibilities
  • Greet customers appropriately and treat all customers in a courteous manner.
  • Ensure all field phlebotomy and PSC specimens are collected accurately and on time.
  • Collect specimens according to established procedures and properly explain the process to patients.
  • Dispose of blood or other biohazard fluids or tissue in accordance with applicable laws, standards, or policies.
  • Complete requisitions accurately and enter patient, specimen, insurance, or billing information into computer.
  • Communicate with clients to confirm handwritten orders, verify test(s) ordered, and obtain accurate billing information.
  • Research test/client information utilizing lab computer system and match laboratory requisition forms to specimen tubes.
  • Label, centrifuge, split, and freeze specimens as required by test order and package specimens for transport.
  • Store specimen sample according to required temperature and maintain required records and documentation.
  • Assist with compilation of monthly statistics and data and perform basic clerical duties.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or GED preferred.
  • Phlebotomist Certification is preferred.
  • Prior job-related experience preferred.
