Diagnostic Radiology Technologist

We are seeking a highly skilled Diagnostic Radiology Technologist to join our team at WellStar Kennestone Hospital. As a key member of our Diagnostic Imaging department, you will be responsible for performing a wide range of diagnostic imaging procedures, including radiography, fluoroscopy, and computed tomography (CT) scans.
Key Responsibilities- Obtain complete clinical history, gather examination data, and assess for contraindicating conditions.
- Follow established procedures for the administration of contrast media to ensure patient safety and comfort.
- Ensure that all studies have proper patient identification and right and left markers are utilized appropriately.
- Review radiographic images for clinically acceptable results and release patients.
- Respond to emergency situations and provide for the restocking of the crash cart and maintenance of life support equipment.
- Assist other technologists in all modalities when needed.
- Observe patient condition and properly evaluate situations when physician intervention is necessary.
- Verify two unique patient identifiers and correct clinical order prior to performing a procedure per policy.
- Ensure patient privacy and comfort are accommodated.
- Demonstrate competence in the determination and application of appropriate procedures, equipment, supplies, and techniques based on the age of patients.
- Organize schedule, time, and priorities to ensure required activities are accomplished within designated time frames.
- Follow physician instructions when assisting with procedures and exams.
- Use critical thinking skills, ask clarifying questions, and seek clarification on ambiguous orders.
- Understand, demonstrate, and document preprocedural verification and Time Out process when appropriate.
- Demonstrate and understand pre-and-post procedural care.
- Prep the patient for the procedure.
- Demonstrate and understand sterile technique.
- Maintain competency with venipuncture, where applicable.
- Minimum 2 years of experience as an R.T.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- ARRT certification in Radiography.
- Ability to work independently and under pressure while participating in a team environment.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to prioritize appropriately and multitask effectively.
- Detail-oriented and able to function independently as a cooperative team member.
This position requires working in a fast-paced environment with frequent exposure to radiation. The successful candidate must be able to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for long periods.
