MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Candidates must possess a minimum of three years of verifiable maintenance experience, including supervisory responsibilities. Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications such as Outlook, Word, and Excel is essential for report generation and record maintenance. Candidates must be prepared to be on-call and work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, as needed. The ability to lift over 50 pounds independently is required, along with the physical capability to perform tasks such as climbing ladders, bending, and reaching.
A valid Driver's License is mandatory. Knowledge of maintenance procedures for buildings and grounds, as well as the operation of heating, air conditioning, sewage treatment, or water purification systems, is essential. Candidates should demonstrate the ability to operate, inspect, and maintain equipment and machinery, perform regular maintenance activities, and communicate effectively with team members.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Experience in a Long Term Care Facility is highly desirable. Familiarity with AHCA Life Safety Procedures and state regulations is preferred. The ability to read and interpret blueprints is an asset.
POSITION DESCRIPTION:
This role involves developing, planning, implementing, and monitoring all maintenance functions in accordance with established procedures. Responsibilities include maintaining the standards for the maintenance department and overseeing the Safety Program, including Life Safety protocols. The supervisor will ensure that environmental controls and equipment such as chillers, boilers, and generators are operational and well-maintained through staff and/or maintenance contracts.
Tasks include assigning duties to maintenance and grounds staff, conducting inspections for compliance with laws and policies, and making recommendations for facility improvements. The supervisor will collaborate with architects, engineers, and contractors to prepare project proposals and budget estimates.
Additionally, the supervisor will work with the Purchasing Agent to procure necessary materials and services, maintain operational procedures, and conduct fire and safety training for staff. Regular inspections of life safety systems will be conducted to ensure compliance.
The supervisor will also manage the maintenance team, including attendance tracking and performance reviews, and will maintain a scheduling system for work assignments. This position serves as the maintenance representative for the facility and requires on-call coverage for maintenance personnel.
All other related duties as assigned by the Administrator will be performed in accordance with established policies and procedures. This position is part of the Select Exempt Service system.
