Patient Care Responsibilities
  • Prepare medications and provide pharmacological information to multidisciplinary healthcare teams.
  • Monitor patient drug therapies.
  • Control medications by overseeing drug therapies and advising on necessary interventions.
  • Organize and direct the workflow of Pharmacy Technicians, ensuring accurate preparation and labeling of pharmaceuticals.
  • Answer questions and requests from healthcare professionals and counsel patients on drug therapies.

Compliance Duties
  • Adhere to state and federal drug laws as regulated by the state board of pharmacy, the drug enforcement administration, and the food and drug administration.
  • Maintain records for controlled substances and remove outdated or damaged drugs from inventory.
  • Supervise the work of support personnel.
  • Stay informed on existing and new legislation, advising management on necessary actions.
  • Ensure adherence to infection-control protocols to protect patients and staff.
  • Maintain a safe and clean working environment by following established procedures and regulations.

Customer Service Expectations
  • Consult with multidisciplinary teams at various facility locations.
  • Demonstrate genuine care for patients.
  • Ensure accurate delivery of pharmaceuticals.
  • Provide exceptional customer service to all internal and external customers.

Qualifications
Experience
  • 1-3 years of experience in a pharmacy setting.
  • 1-3 years of relevant experience in Long Term Care, Skilled Nursing, or Infusion Pharmacy preferred.
Education
  • Graduate of an accredited school of pharmacy.
  • Bachelor's Degree in a related field preferred.
Licensure
  • Valid California Pharmacist License.

Salary

$70/hr DOE
