POSITION OVERVIEW

The main responsibility involves TIG welding aluminum components for HVAC systems. This position requires adherence to technical drawings and specifications, emphasizing meticulous attention to detail. Candidates must possess prior experience in Aluminum TIG welding and successfully complete a welding assessment.

Core Responsibilities
  • Operate TIG welding machinery to join aluminum materials.
  • Utilize electrical equipment and torches to generate heat for soldering various metal components.
  • Weld both small and large aluminum structural tubing and other aluminum elements.
  • Interpret blueprints and sketches to execute tasks according to specifications.
  • Evaluate equipment, structures, materials, and job specifications to determine suitable welding positions and techniques.
  • Monitor equipment usage and temperature for optimal performance.
  • Maintain comprehensive knowledge of universal standards and specifications to comply with building codes and legal requirements.
  • Operate specialized machinery for industrial welding applications.
  • Cut metal components using heat, fire, and electricity.
  • Dismantle and dispose of large metal structures.
  • Assess the work environment for hazards and ensure adequate ventilation to prevent inhalation of particles or gases.
  • Regularly communicate with the Team Leader or Supervisor regarding parts shortages or machinery/tooling maintenance needs.
  • Sustain an acceptable work pace to ensure a steady flow of parts for assembly lines.
  • Report any non-conforming activities or products to management.
  • Uphold good housekeeping practices.
  • Identify and report unsafe conditions or actions, promoting a safe working environment.
  • Adhere to safety guidelines and policies to ensure safe work practices at all times.
Supervisory Responsibilities:

This position does not include supervisory duties.

SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS

Education: High School Diploma or GED preferred; or 6 months of relevant experience and/or training; or a combination of education and experience.

Experience: 1-3 years of experience in aluminum welding is preferred.

Computer Skills: Basic computer skills are preferred.

Certificates & Licenses: Not applicable.

Other Requirements: Must be proficient in reading and communicating in English. Familiarity with operational excellence principles, lean manufacturing, continuous improvement, and 5S methodologies is preferred.
