Novant Health is seeking a skilled Behavioral Health Advanced Practice Provider to join our team in the Emergency Department at Novant Health New Hanover Regional Medical Center in Wilmington, NC. This role will be primarily responsible for conducting psychiatric assessments of individuals presenting to the emergency department. You will collaborate with a multidisciplinary treatment team to determine the most appropriate disposition for each individual.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct psychiatric assessments of individuals presenting to the emergency department
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary treatment team to determine the most appropriate disposition for each individual
- Engage with patients and their families to provide education and support
- Develop and implement treatment plans to address the unique needs of each patient
- Work closely with physicians and other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless care coordination
- Master's degree in a relevant field
- Current licensure as a Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA)
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Current DEA registration
- CPI Certification within three months of hire
- One to three years of experience in Behavioral Health

This is a 24 hour/week position that will work nights. Experience working in an emergency department/behavioral health urgent care setting and completing crisis assessments for children/adolescents and adults is preferred.
