Job Title: Speech Language Pathologist

We are seeking a highly skilled Speech Language Pathologist to join our team at Fort Bend ISD. As a Speech Language Pathologist, you will be responsible for assessing and treating students with communication disorders.

Qualification Requirements
  • A Master's Degree in Speech Language Pathology or a related field is required.
  • A Bachelor's Degree with TEA certification in Speech and Language Therapy or Speech and Hearing Therapy is also acceptable.
  • ASHA Certification, Clinical Fellowship Year, and/or a Master's degree with a TX license are accepted.
  • A valid Texas license as a Speech Pathologist granted by the Texas Board of Examiners for Speech-Language Pathology or Audiology is required.
  • A minimum of 1 year experience as a Speech Language Pathologist in public schools is preferred.
Responsibilities
  • Assess and treat students with communication disorders.
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans.
  • Collaborate with teachers and other professionals to support student learning.
  • Administer, score, and interpret standardized speech assessment instruments for children.

  • Occasional walking, standing, sitting, bending, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, and lifting/carrying work-related items weighing less than 40 pounds.
  • Regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear.
Additional Information

This position may have exposure to bodily fluids and the employee must be capable of physically restraining students when necessary following the approved de-escalation/restraint techniques.

This position requires travel to various campuses and district meeting sites. This position may be required to work some overtime as defined by the needs of the department.
