We are seeking a skilled Radiology Technologist PRN to join our team at SSM Health St. Joseph Hospital - Lake Saint Louis. As a Radiology Technologist PRN, you will be responsible for taking x-rays of designated parts of the human body for diagnostic purposes and providing support for the imaging department.
Responsibilities and Requirements- Explain procedures to patients to ensure understanding and provide appropriate educational material.
- Transport patients to and from clinical areas and verify patient identity according to policies and procedures.
- Prepare patients for radiology exams by positioning them for the procedure.
- Follow radiation safety procedures and guidelines to prevent patient exposure to unnecessary radiation.
- Administer contrast media and medications within the accepted scope of practice and applicable state and federal regulations.
- Observe patients during procedures and report any abnormal activity.
- Ensure prompt submission of high-quality images and documents to PACS.
- Maintain a clean and orderly department, including procedure rooms, storage areas, and dressing rooms.
- Perform limited CT procedures in emergent situations when a CT Technologist is not on site.
- Work in a constant state of alertness and safe manner.
- Completion of a radiology certification program.
- No experience required.
- Constant standing and walking.
- Frequent use of vision and depth perception for distances near and far.
- Frequent use of hearing and speech to share information through oral communication.
- Frequent use of hearing to distinguish body sounds and/or hear alarms, malfunctioning machinery, etc.
- Frequent lifting/carrying and pushing/pulling objects weighing 0-25 lbs.
- Frequent lifting/moving of patients.
- Frequent reaching, gripping, and keyboard use/data entry.
- Occasional lifting/carrying and pushing/pulling objects weighing 25-50 lbs.
- Occasional use of vision to identify and distinguish colors.
- Occasional bending, stooping, squatting, twisting, and repetitive foot/leg and hand/arm movements.
