About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Mechanical Packaging Mechanic to join our team at Packaging Corporation of America (PCA). As a Mechanical Packaging Mechanic, you will be responsible for building, maintaining, and repairing our packaging machines, ensuring they operate efficiently and effectively.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design, manufacture, troubleshoot, repair, rebuild, and replace mechanical and electrical components on packaging equipment
  • Work as part of a team to increase productivity, reduce downtime, and waste
  • Follow all company safety rules and lock-out tag-out procedures
  • Develop close relationships with customers to aid in becoming a preferred supplier
Requirements
  • Authorized to work in the U.S.
  • One-year steady work history in a maintenance role and/or technical certification
  • Passionate about maintaining a safe work environment
  • Ability to work on call, weekends, and overtime as required
  • Ability to troubleshoot and repair mechanical and/or electrical equipment
Preferred Qualifications
  • 2 to 5 years of practical application experience in mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic maintenance functions
  • 2+ years of experience in successfully troubleshooting and repairing industrial machinery and/or technical degree in a related field
