Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Cook to join our team at Perkins Restaurant & Bakery - CyHawk Hospitality Inc. in Waterloo. As a Cook, you will be responsible for preparing menu items according to company policies and procedures, maintaining food costs, and ensuring the cleanliness of the kitchen.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare menu items according to company standards and recipes.
  • Maintain food costs and ensure the cleanliness of the kitchen.
  • Stock and rotate products on line to ensure they are within shelf life standards.
  • Use, maintain, and clean all kitchen equipment and preparation areas.
  • Control food costs and ensure accurate portioning and quality of food products.
  • Maintain cleanliness of the kitchen, prep areas, coolers, and storage areas.
  • Follow proper safety procedures and policies concerning food handling, rotation, and storage.
  • Anticipate, identify, and correct system breakdowns to achieve maximum guest satisfaction.
  • Communicate with Manager on Duty and coworkers regarding product/service deficiencies, equipment, safety problems, etc.
Requirements
  • Knowledge of recipes, menu items, and prep procedures.
  • Ability to work well-groomed, in clean and proper uniform, and practice good personal hygiene.
  • Ability to maintain a clean and organized workspace.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with coworkers and management.
