As a key member of our maintenance department, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of hospital equipment and facilities. This role requires excellent problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
Key Responsibilities
* Inspect, test, maintain, adjust, and make minor repairs to furniture, office equipment, hospital equipment, plumbing, electrical, and mechanical systems.* Perform minor repairs on hospital structures, including doors, floors, ceilings, and locks.* Secure shelving and other items to masonry, walls, and other structures.* Repair and replace defective electrical cords, heating elements, motors, and lights.* Refurbish/repair walls, floors, and ceilings, including spackling and painting.* Perform preventive maintenance on all hospital equipment.* Interpret basic blueprints.* Maintain a clean work area, observing all safety regulations.* Complete paperwork in a clear and concise manner.* Lift and carry materials related to the job.* May be required to leave the hospital to obtain supplies using a hospital supplies vehicle.* Work alone during shift coverage, holidays, weekends, vacation, and sick time.* Deliver excellent customer service, resulting in positive and improving patient satisfaction scores.* Assemble equipment.* Perform duties on hospital exterior grounds and in the building.* Assist in snow removal and grounds maintenance.* Assist plumbers, carpenters, electricians, and outside contractors as assigned.* Maintain inventory of maintenance supplies.* Maintain equipment and tools used in performing job functions.* Perform other duties as assigned.* Respond to hospital emergencies, fire drills, and other critical situations as detailed in the Policy and Procedure manual.* Observe all policies and procedures set forth by PMC, the Maintenance Department, OSHA, NJDOH, and JCAHO.* Use chemicals and personal protective equipment (PPE) as required.
Requirements
* High school graduate or equivalent.* 1-2 years of experience in a similar position.* Excellent written and verbal communication skills.* Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office and/or Google Suite platforms.
Preferred Qualifications
* Trade school or vocational school education.
