Caregiver Job Description

We are seeking a compassionate and experienced Caregiver to join our team at Right at Home Merrillville, IN. As a Caregiver, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality care and support to seniors and disabled adults in their homes or care facilities.

Responsibilities:
  • Provide companionship and social interaction to clients, including conversation, activities, and light housekeeping.
  • Assist with personal care tasks, such as bathing, feeding, toileting, transferring, and grooming.
  • Transport clients to appointments and assist with medication reminders.
  • Chart and report client progress to the care team.
Requirements:
  • Minimum 1 year of experience caring for a senior or adult.
  • Ability to competently perform assigned tasks.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Warmth and compassion for people under your care.
  • Completion of a criminal background check, BMV check, TB test, and drug screen.
  • Valid driver's license, current auto insurance, and reliable transportation.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • CNA, HHA, or DSP certification and experience.
  • Previous experience working 12 hour shifts.
