The Progressive Care Unit (PCU) operates as a transitional step from Critical Care/ICU, catering to patients with high acuity needs. This unit is ideal for RNs eager for challenges, eager to learn, and looking to establish a robust skill set across various medical disciplines. It is particularly suited for RNs aiming for long-term careers in specialized fields.

Our Banner Baywood Progressive Care Unit features 80 inpatient beds, focusing on high-acuity, cardiac-monitored care for adult and geriatric patients. We deliver exceptional, patient-centered care for individuals facing acute and chronic health conditions, often with multiple co-morbidities. Our leadership emphasizes a collaborative team approach, fostering an environment that promotes continuous growth and mentorship for our nursing staff. Nurses in our unit are EKG and ACLS certified, receiving education that goes beyond basic training. Our vision is to cultivate an environment where our RNs can excel and deliver outstanding patient experiences.

As a Registered Nurse at HealthEcareers - Client, you will benefit from our self-scheduling tool for shifts and weekend coverage. We also provide an 18% night shift differential and an additional flat rate of $3/hour for eligible weekend shifts.

POSITION SUMMARY
This role involves assessing, planning, implementing, evaluating, and documenting nursing care for patients in line with organizational policies and professional nursing standards. You will be accountable for the quality of nursing services delivered by yourself and those under your supervision.

CORE FUNCTIONS
1. Conduct comprehensive assessments of patients' physical, psychological, social, spiritual, educational, developmental, cultural, and discharge planning needs. Review patient history and collaborate with families to ensure timely completion of assessments.

2. Develop individualized care plans, including discharge plans, based on assessment data and input from patients, families, and the healthcare team. Ensure goals are realistic, measurable, and aligned with patient needs.

3. Implement care plans through direct patient care and by coordinating and supervising the healthcare team. Ensure compliance with policies, procedures, and standards of care.

4. Evaluate patient and family responses to care and education, adjusting care plans as necessary to meet evolving patient needs.

5. Document all aspects of patient care accurately and in a timely manner, ensuring compliance with organizational policies.

6. Engage in evidence-based practice and may participate in research activities within the clinical setting. Contribute to the education and development of healthcare personnel.
