Position Summary

The role of the Utility Worker is crucial in ensuring that the Food and Nutrition Services Department operates in a clean and safe environment. This position involves various cleaning and maintenance tasks to uphold hygiene standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure all kitchenware, including pots, pans, and utensils, are thoroughly cleaned and organized.
  • Perform daily sweeping and mopping of all designated areas, including production, salad, and trayline sections.
  • Manage waste disposal by removing trash and recycling materials appropriately.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization in coolers, freezers, and storage spaces.
  • Assist in transporting food and supplies to various functions and ensure leftover food is handled properly.
  • Regularly change fryer grease and maintain kitchen equipment cleanliness.
  • Set up and maintain dishwashing equipment, ensuring it operates efficiently.
  • Receive and organize deliveries, ensuring proper stock rotation.
  • Adhere to a daily and weekly cleaning schedule.
  • Properly label and store leftovers to ensure food safety.
  • Restock supplies as needed and manage empty containers appropriately.
  • Consistently wear appropriate attire and identification as per company policy.
  • Demonstrate safe equipment usage and perform additional related tasks as assigned.

Qualifications

Education: A high school diploma or GED is preferred. Proficiency in reading and writing English is required.

Experience: Previous experience in food service is preferred.
