About the Opportunity
Western Michigan University Homer Stryker M.D. School of Medicine is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated faculty member to join our Department of Family and Community Medicine. As a Family Medicine Physician with Obstetrics expertise, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care, teaching and mentoring residents and medical students, and contributing to the department's mission of advancing health equity in Southwest Michigan.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide full-scope family medicine services, including inpatient, outpatient, and obstetrics care, to patients and residents.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives, utilization review, and outcomes management to ensure excellent patient care.
- Recruit, supervise, educate, and assess resident physicians to ensure their growth and development.
- Provide high-quality instruction for graduate and undergraduate medical education programs.
- Contribute to the department's research and innovation efforts, including clinical, laboratory, community, and educational research.
Requirements
- MD or DO degree from an accredited institution.
- Completion of a Family Medicine Residency from an accredited program.
- Board certification or eligibility in Family Medicine from the American Board of Family Medicine or the American Osteopathic Board of Family Physicians.
- Eligibility for a Michigan medical license.
- Dedicated commitment to providing a quality educational experience for residents and medical students.
