Position Summary
The Surface Mount Technician A plays a crucial role in the assembly and inspection of electronic circuit card assemblies, utilizing hand soldering and surface mount technology (SMT) manufacturing techniques.

This position requires a keen focus on safety and precision while performing a range of tasks from simple to complex.

Key Responsibilities

• Utilize a microscope for extended periods while executing hand soldering tasks in mechanical assembly.
• Micro solder Integrated Circuit (IC) chips and other SMT components using hand-soldering tools and hot air reflow equipment.
• Conduct rework on SMT and Printed Circuit Boards (PCB), ensuring the removal and replacement of components without damage, while maintaining product quality.
• Collaborate daily with Production Control, Quality Assurance, and Engineering teams.
• Interpret assembly drawings, work instructions, and parts lists effectively.
• Propose enhancements to assembly drawings and work instructions to improve efficiency and capabilities.
• Prepare and operate various standard assembly tools to verify high-quality subassemblies and systems according to specifications.

Qualifications
Minimum Requirements:

• High School diploma or GED.
• 3+ years of relevant experience.
• Proficiency in hand soldering and mechanical assembly.
• Ability to thrive in a dynamic and evolving work environment.
• Flexibility in work hours with limited overtime as necessary.
• Training in industry standards, with prior certifications in J-STD-001 and IPC-610.
• Visual acuity testing may be required, including near vision and color vision assessments.
• Eligibility as a US person under export laws is necessary.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Familiarity with industry-standard adhesives and bonding techniques.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel and Word.

Compensation
The hourly wage for this position is $28.93. Compensation may vary based on factors such as geographical location, job function, education, and experience.
