About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Retrofit Technician to join our team at Suburban Automotive Services. As a Retrofit Technician, you will play a critical role in ensuring that our vehicles are safely saleable by completing all listed repairs/corrections provided by engineering.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform basic to mild automotive repairs, including removing and replacing parts as needed.
  • Diagnose vehicles as they come in, using your diagnostic skills to identify issues.
  • Program modules within the vehicles using a computer, ensuring that all systems are functioning properly.
  • Perform unspecified problems with a vehicle, using your knowledge and experience to correct issues and procedures.
  • Adhere to Suburban Automotive Service's DRIVEN values and align business practices to support the SAS mission and vision.
Requirements
  • Must have a valid driver's license.
  • Basic diagnostic skills, including the ability to diagnose and repair vehicles.
  • Must be able to lift 50 pounds and be on your feet for extended periods.
  • Own a cell phone to communicate with clients and team members.
  • Mild to moderate understanding of how to use a computer for programming all modules within a vehicle.
  • Exceptional oral and written communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with clients and team members.
  • Customer service oriented, with a focus on providing excellent service to our clients.
  • Exceptional time management and multi-tasking skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Self-starter, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Reliable team player, with a focus on collaboration and teamwork.
  • Basic hand tools and power tools, including wrenches, screwdrivers, picks, pliers, hammers, impacts, ratchets, and grinders.
  • Experience using battery chargers and maintainers.
  • Experience using special equipment, including hoists, transmission jacks, and cherry pickers.
  • Proper use of handling fluids.
