* Stay informed about ongoing stories, personnel assignments, and platform coverage

* Maintain relationships with law enforcement, fire, and other agencies to ensure comprehensive coverage of spot news

* Lead editorial meetings, contribute story ideas, and cultivate contacts essential to news coverage in the San Diego area

* Accurately record daily events in our Assignment Desk computer systems

* Search for user-generated content and route personal matters to the appropriate manager

* Oversee feed and live signal intake, supervise daily beat checks, and update news stories on various platforms

* Assign photographers to reporters and communicate changes and other necessary information to them in the field

* Possess knowledge of newsroom automation systems, online storage, and computer languages or equivalent work experience

* Familiarity with media acquisition and IP transmission systems

* Experience with microwave, satellite, and cellular bonded technology

Requirements:

* Strong editorial judgment and ability to work in a fast-paced environment

* Excellent communication and organizational skills

* Ability to work effectively in a team environment

* Proficiency in newsroom automation systems and computer languages

* Familiarity with media acquisition and IP transmission systems

* Experience with microwave, satellite, and cellular bonded technology
