About the Job
">The Autism Specialist will be responsible for providing behavioral support services to individuals diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASD) and/or other behavioral and social/communication challenges.
This position requires a high level of enthusiasm, cooperation, and interest in all areas necessary for success. The ideal candidate must possess excellent knowledge of autism spectrum disorders and be able to maintain compliance with state and federal laws as well as CARF accreditation standards.
Responsibilities:
- Exhibit knowledge of autism spectrum disorders and provide behavioral support services accordingly.
- Maintain accurate and timely data collection during treatment sessions.
- Ensure all data collected is entered into the Electronic Health Record system.
- Provide individualized instruction and reinforcement for desired behaviors.
- Assist behavior analysts with behavior reduction assessments and skill acquisition plans.
- Participate in professional meetings or conferences as assigned.
- Adhere to the mission, vision, and values of Friendship Community Care.
- Perform other duties as assigned by immediate supervisor.
Requirements:
- Ability to work independently with minimum supervision.
- Time management skills, observation skills, and analytical skills.
- Ability to receive detailed information through written and verbal communications.
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
- Must earn the Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) credential within the first 60 days of employment.
- Pass the RBT exam through BACB.
- Preferred experience working with children or adults with autism or a developmental disability.
Compensation and Benefits:
The estimated salary for this position is $45,000-$55,000 per year, depending on experience. Benefits include health insurance, paid time off, and opportunities for professional growth and development.
