Critical Care Nurse

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Registered Nurse to join our team at the University of New Mexico - Hospitals. As a Critical Care Nurse, you will provide high-quality patient care in a fast-paced environment, working collaboratively with our interdisciplinary team to deliver exceptional outcomes.
Key Responsibilities- Provide direct nursing care to patients in the Emergency Room and Intensive Care Unit, utilizing the nursing process to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care.
- Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement individualized care plans, ensuring patient safety and well-being.
- Administer medications, perform various medical procedures, and provide education to patients and families on health promotion and disease prevention.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives, contributing to the development and implementation of evidence-based practices that enhance patient care and outcomes.
- Work effectively in a dynamic environment, prioritizing tasks and managing time to meet the needs of patients and the team.
- Current RN licensure in New Mexico or eligibility for reciprocal agreement.
- 1 year of direct experience in a critical care setting, preferably in an Emergency Room or Intensive Care Unit.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification within 6 months of hire.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment, communicating clearly and respectfully with patients, families, and colleagues.
- Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively in a fast-paced environment.
