Job Summary

Riverview Health is seeking a Respiratory Therapist to provide high-quality patient care and support our clinical team. As a Respiratory Therapist, you will be responsible for assessing patients' respiratory needs and developing individualized treatment plans to meet their goals.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Administer oxygen, aerosolized medications, and treatments, as well as provide airway management for inpatients and outpatients.
  • Analyze assessment data and identify specific patient respiratory problems.
  • Advise physicians, other disciplines, family/significant others of changes in patient's condition or abnormal findings, communicating clearly and concisely.
  • Respond to codes and assist the healthcare team by maintaining the airway or performing cardiac massage.
  • Recognize adverse drug reactions and report them appropriately.
  • Document accurate inpatient information to the medical record, including all treatments, medications, and therapy administered.
  • Initiate and monitor mechanical ventilation to ensure proper equipment function.
Requirements:Education:
  • A degree from an accredited Respiratory program.
Experience:
  • No minimum required experience.
  • Preferred: One (1) year of Critical Care experience, competent in providing respiratory care to newborn, pediatric, and geriatric populations.
Certifications/Licenses:
  • Respiratory Therapist License in the state of Indiana in good standing.
  • Basic Life Safety (American Heart Association).
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support within 6 months of start date of employment (American Heart Association).
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support within 6 months of start date of employment (American Heart Association).
  • Neonatal Resuscitation Program certification within 6 months of start date of employment for those assigned to the nursery (American Heart Association).
What We Offer:
  • $62,000 - $82,000 per year.
