About the Role

This is a unique opportunity to join our team as a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner, providing psychiatric services to assigned patients. You'll work closely with our team to ensure a safe and supportive environment for our patients. Your expertise will be invaluable in helping us deliver high-quality care.

Responsibilities

As a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner, your key responsibilities will include:
  • Completing psychiatric evaluations and assessments for assigned patients
  • Evaluating patients' clinical and medical appropriateness for transfer and/or discharge
  • Documenting all meetings with patients in process notes within 24 hours of meeting
  • Consulting with patients in support and interpretation of the treatment plan and treatment team decisions
  • Prescribing medication appropriate to the patient within the policies and practices of the Company
  • Reviewing all non-psychiatric medical orders and prescriptions and consulting with prescribers as required
  • Communicating risks, benefits, and side effects of psychiatric medication to patients and documenting such education in the progress notes
  • Attending treatment team meetings and providing consultation regarding medications and psychiatric issues
  • Determining a psychiatric diagnosis per DSM-V or subsequent publication and documenting the diagnosis in the patient's medical record within 24 hours of admission
  • Taking call Monday through Friday for psychiatric issues involving assigned patients
  • May provide emergency psychiatric consultation by telephone seven days per week, twenty-four hours per day, except during periods of scheduled time off

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you'll need:
  • Graduation from an approved Nurse Practitioner Program
  • Licensed with the Colorado Board of Nursing
  • Must have a DEA Number
  • CPR and CPI certified
  • Three years experience in chemical dependency or eating disorders preferred
  • Two years experience with patient population served required
