Core Responsibilities:

Security Evaluation and Strategy Formulation:

  • Perform an extensive security evaluation of the current Azure setup, focusing on identity and access management, network security, data safeguarding, and monitoring.
  • Identify potential security threats, weaknesses, and deficiencies in the current configuration.
  • Create a cloud security strategy that aligns with the client's business goals and compliance obligations (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA).

Security Architecture Development:

  • Craft a scalable and resilient security architecture for the Azure environment, incorporating identity management, network segmentation, data encryption, and logging/monitoring solutions.
  • Establish and implement security measures that address identified vulnerabilities, utilizing Azure-specific security tools such as Azure Security Center, Azure Policy, Azure Blueprints, and Azure Sentinel.
  • Devise an integration strategy for security tools and technologies, ensuring smooth interaction with existing on-premises and cloud resources.

Implementation and Configuration:

  • Set up and deploy security features and tools within Azure, including Azure Active Directory (AAD), Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA), Azure Key Vault, and Network Security Groups (NSGs).
  • Implement automation scripts and templates (e.g., ARM templates, Terraform) for security configurations and integrations.
  • Design and execute an incident response strategy within Azure, including configuring alerts, logging, and automated responses to security incidents.

Compliance and Governance:

  • Ensure that the Azure environment complies with relevant regulatory standards and industry benchmarks (e.g., CIS Benchmarks, NIST).
  • Establish a governance framework for ongoing compliance monitoring, reporting, and policy enforcement using Azure Policy and Azure Blueprints.
  • Maintain comprehensive documentation of the security architecture, configurations, and governance procedures.

Training and Knowledge Transfer:

  • Design and implement a training program tailored to the needs of the client's personnel.
  • Provide training on the fundamentals of Azure security tools, best practices, and common configurations.
  • Conduct detailed sessions on identity management, threat protection, compliance, and monitoring within Azure.
  • Facilitate hands-on workshops where staff will configure and manage security tools within the Azure environment.
