Job Summary

UNC Health Care is seeking a skilled Computed Tomography Technologist to join our team. As a CT Technologist, you will be responsible for conducting procedures and tests using Computerized Tomography (CT) equipment to acquire and analyze patient diagnostic data.

Responsibilities
  • Patient Identification: Verify patient identification, obtain patient history, and ensure patient safety. Verify patient identification, ask and document pregnancy status on patients of childbearing age.
  • CT Scans: Obtain images per protocols, manipulate images according to protocols, and perform multi-planar and 3D reconstruction of image data.
  • Contrast Administration: Administer oral contrast to adult and pediatric patients according to protocols, establish intravenous lines, and administer IV contrast following safe and proper injection procedures.
  • Image Transfer: Maintain a thorough understanding of PACS, transmit images to QC, UNCH's EMR, EPIC, and PACS, and verify and segment images at the QC station.
  • Other Duties: Perform tasks in a timely manner, run the schedule creating a consistent workflow, and maintain a clean and orderly work environment.
Requirements
  • Completion of an accredited educational program in Radiological Science or completion within 3 months at time of application.
  • Must be registered with the American Registry of Radiological Sciences or registry eligible.
  • Requires advanced certification in CT within one year of employment.
  • Successful candidates must become registered within one year of employment and must maintain their registry status and continuing education requirements annually.
Work Environment

This is a per diem position for nights, with a variable schedule. The standard hours per week are 4.00. The salary range is $40.09 per hour (hiring range).
