Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and customer-focused Lead Clerk to join our team in the Grocery Department. As a Lead Clerk, you will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service, leading by example, and assisting the department manager in general department operations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Customer Service: Provide fast, friendly service to all customers, answering questions and resolving complaints in a professional manner.
  • Leadership: Lead by example, demonstrating excellent customer service skills and providing guidance and support to other clerks as needed.
  • Department Operations: Assist the department manager in maintaining a clean and organized store environment, including stocking shelves, rotating merchandise, and performing other duties as assigned.
  • Communication: Communicate effectively with customers, colleagues, and management, utilizing excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Problem-Solving: Address customer complaints and concerns in a professional and courteous manner, providing solutions and alternatives when necessary.
Requirements
  • Education: High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Experience: Previous customer service experience, preferably in a retail or grocery environment
  • Skills: Excellent communication and problem-solving skills, ability to work in a fast-paced environment, and a commitment to providing exceptional customer service
Working Conditions

The Lead Clerk will work in a fast-paced grocery environment, standing for long periods of time, walking, and moving rapidly. The ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform other physical demands of the job is required.
