Job Title: Full Stack Sr Java Developer

This is a 12-month contract opportunity with Saxon Global in Dallas, TX. The role requires 2 days of onsite work in Dallas and 3 days of remote work. Only local candidates from Texas are eligible for this position.

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Full Stack Sr Java Developer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Java development, with experience in designing, developing, and implementing large-scale, highly available applications. The successful candidate will participate in all phases of the software development lifecycle, using best practices in object-oriented techniques and Agile methodologies.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Evaluate requirements and propose solutions with careful consideration to cost and impact on other systems.
  • Develop and execute implementation plans for the delivery of requested functionality.
  • Review, create, and alter existing software and software artifacts to implement new requirements.
  • Participate in software design and peer code reviews.
  • Mentor and coach team members related to analysis, architecture, design, development, build, deployment, and maintenance of systems.
  • Monitor performance and provide support for applications after implementation.
  • Provide technical assistance and partner with end-users to understand and resolve problems.
  • Oversee the installation of hardware and software.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science/Engineering or a related field.
  • Advanced degree is preferred; experience with operations research optimization techniques is a plus.
  • 5+ years of application development experience, including 5+ years of Java SE experience and 3+ years of Java EE experience.
  • Strong working knowledge of Java, Spring, Hibernate, HTML, XML, JavaScript, UNIX/Linux, and object-oriented methodologies.
  • Familiarity with Cloud technologies is a plus.
  • Experience with UI technologies and frameworks (e.g., HTML5, CSS, LESS, AngularJS, ReactJS) is also required.
  • Must have an in-depth knowledge of the JEE platform and supporting technologies such as JAXP, JMS, JDBC.
  • Must be familiar with Relational Databases such as Oracle or SQL Server; strong working knowledge of SQL preferred.
  • Must have experience consuming Web Services and implementing Web Services; should be familiar with messaging and SOA technologies; require knowledge of general architecture principles.
  • Familiarity with software configuration management/build processes is a plus.
  • Must have strong interpersonal skills to provide coaching to junior team members.
  • Must possess excellent oral and written communication skills, including strong presentation skills.
  • Must be a strong communicator with the ability to lead technical and non-technical discussions.
  • Demonstrate technical problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Proven ability to multitask.
