About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Data Engineer to join our Data and Analytics organization. As a key member of our team, you will play a crucial role in building and delivering best-in-class data and analytics solutions that drive value and impact for our organization.

Responsibilities
  • Design and Develop Scalable Data Pipelines: Architect, build, and maintain robust and reliable data pipelines that can be consumed by analytics and BI layers.
  • Develop Low-Latency Data Applications: Design, develop, and implement high-availability and performant data applications using Python, SQL, PySpark, and bash scripting.
  • Implement Data Quality Framework: Design and implement a data quality framework to ensure the data layer is robust and trustworthy for downstream consumers.
  • Develop Orchestration Layer: Design and develop an orchestration layer for data pipelines using SQL, Python, and PySpark.
  • Apply Software Engineering Techniques: Apply software engineering techniques like design patterns, code refactoring, framework design, code reusability, code versioning, performance optimization, and continuous build and Integration (CI/CD) to make the data analytics team robust and efficient.
  • Perform Job Functions: Perform all job functions consistent with company policies and procedures, including those which govern handling PHI and PII.
  • Develop Business Relationships: Develop relationships with business team members by being proactive, displaying an increasing understanding of the business processes, and recommending innovative solutions.
  • Communicate Project Output: Communicate project output in terms of customer value, business objectives, and product opportunity.
Requirements
  • Experience and Education: 5+ years of experience with a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Applied Mathematics, or a related field.
  • Technical Skills: Extensive hands-on development experience in Python, SQL, and Bash, as well as experience with cloud data warehouse and data lake platforms like Databricks, Redshift, or Snowflake.
  • Performance Optimization: Extensive experience in performance optimization of data pipelines.
  • Data Quality Framework: Experience in developing and implementing a data quality framework using open-source frameworks like Great Expectations, Soda, or Deequ.
  • Orchestration Layer: Extensive experience in developing an end-to-end orchestration layer for data pipelines using frameworks like Apache Airflow, Prefect, or Databricks Workflow.
  • API Integration: Familiarity with RESTful Webservices (REST APIs) and API Gateways like APIGEE to secure webservice endpoints.
  • Concurrency and Parallelism: Familiarity with concurrency and parallelism.
  • Data Pipelines: Familiarity with data pipelines and client development cycle.
