Assistant Manager Job Description

As an Assistant Manager at Sonic Drive-In, you will play a key role in ensuring the success of our restaurant. You will assist the General Manager in managing drive-in operations, training and supporting employees, and providing exceptional customer service.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage, train, and monitor team members to ensure quality food service and a clean, safe environment.
  • Direct and assign employees as needed to meet operational standards.
  • Adhere to and monitor employee compliance of the employee handbook, policies, and practices.
  • Perform restaurant opening and closing duties.
  • Monitor and adjust staffing levels, inventory levels, and food cost control.
  • Complete weekly inventory as needed.
  • Assist in administrative duties, including maintaining files, records, and documentation.
  • Reinforce a customer service mentality and ensure all employees are focused on serving the customer.
Requirements:
  • Ability to work irregular hours, nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • General knowledge and understanding of the restaurant industry or retail operations.
  • Minimum of six months of restaurant management experience (QSR) or one year entry-level retail management experience.
  • Effective communication skills, basic math, reading, and computer skills.
  • Ability to follow directions and work with autonomy once given directions.
