Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Registered Nurse to join our team. As a 2nd shift nurse, you will be responsible for providing professional nursing care to a group of assigned patients within the hospital. You will collaborate with the medical staff and other members of the healthcare team to provide quality patient care, performing all activities in accordance with approved policies and guidelines.

Key Responsibilities

  • Completes initial and ongoing assessments, including physical, psychosocial, environmental, self-care abilities, educational, age-appropriate, cultural, and discharge planning needs.
  • Performs plan of care interventions, including medication administration, specimen collection, clinical treatments, and other medical care treatments.
  • Documents patient care given, monitors, records, and communicates patient condition as appropriate to the care team, physician, patient, and family.
  • Assists patients with performing activities of daily living, including personal hygiene, elimination, nutrition, and ambulation.
  • Collaborates as needed across disciplines to coordinate patient care, including patient transfer, discharge, referral, and spiritual/psychosocial support needs.
  • Evaluates learning needs of patient and/or family and provides patient/family education appropriate to age, culture, condition, and circumstances.

Requirements

  • Associate's Degree in Nursing required; Bachelor's Degree in Nursing preferred.
  • Current RN license to practice in NC (NC licensure or multi-state compact license) required.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required within 4 months of hire.
