Job Description

We are seeking a seasoned accounting professional to join our team at Upland Capital Group Inc., a specialty insurance company based in Dallas, Texas. As an Associate Accountant, you will play a crucial role in various financial tasks including accounts payable, expense report processing, journal entries, reconciliation, and month-end close.

The ideal candidate will have a strong attention to detail, excellent organizational skills, and proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint. A bachelor's degree in accounting or equivalent experience is preferred, along with two years of accounting experience, including AP or equivalent combination of education and experience.

The salary for this position is approximately $55,000 - $65,000 per annum, depending on qualifications and experience. While this position is remote, candidates located in the Dallas Fort-Worth area are preferred.

Key Responsibilities
  • Process the Company's accounts payable.
  • Record and pay expense report activity.
  • Assist with various journal entries.
  • Recording of Premium Cash Receipts.
  • This position will interact and collaborate with other departments regularly.
  • Prepare journal entries for daily and monthly financial transactions to the general ledger.
  • Reconcile and prepare detailed reconciliations of Company's balance sheet accounts.
  • Maintain procedures for assigned tasks and update periodically as controls are implemented.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Working knowledge of a major general ledger system.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Takes initiative, self-directed, and able to work independently.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Exceptional organizational skills.
