Job Title: CoderJob Summary:
The Coder will be responsible for analyzing medical records, coding diagnoses and procedures, and ensuring accurate and timely billing for the Southeast Kansas Mental Health Center.
Key Responsibilities:
- Analyze medical records for completeness and accuracy
- Code diagnoses and procedures using ICD-10 and CPT coding systems
- Sequence and code medical information for electronic billing systems
- Attend annual compliance training and complete required CEUs
- Maintain knowledge of medical terminology and coding guidelines
- Generate fee tickets and track lost tickets
- Code EKGs, Holter Monitors, Treadmills, and Tilt Table
- Code Anesthesia for billing
- Review billing denials and ensure accurate patient relations
- Perform other duties as assigned by Supervisor or the Chief Executive Officer
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- CPC (Certified Professional Coder) certification through AAPC
- 1 year of coding experience preferred
- Must pass KBI, DCF child & adult abuse registry, motor vehicle screen, and background checks
- Must have reliable and insured transportation
Working Conditions:
Full-time or part-time position available. Hourly wage. Non-exempt employment status.
