About the Job

We are seeking a highly skilled IONM Technologist to join our team at Neuro Pathway LLC. As an IONM Technologist, you will play a critical role in providing intraoperative neurophysiological monitoring (IONM) care for patients during surgical procedures where there is risk of neurologic injury.

Key Responsibilities
  • Explain Test Procedures: Clearly explain test procedures to patients and their family members to ensure they understand the process.
  • Apply Electrodes: Accurately apply stimulation and recording electrodes in a timely manner.
  • Perform Clinical Assessments: Perform initial clinical motor and sensory neurological assessments and incorporate results into monitoring protocols.
  • Consult with Anesthesia Team: Consult with the anesthesia team regarding management of anesthetic agents for successful recording of neurophysiological signals.
  • Review Patient Records: Review patient medical records, x-rays, MRI scans, and clinical history to determine appropriateness of monitoring.
  • Prepare Patients: Prepare patients for neurophysiological monitoring by applying electrodes in the holding area and/or in the operating room.
  • Calibrate Equipment: Calibrate, evaluate, and adjust equipment to optimize stimulation and recording parameters.
  • Document Patient Information: Establish and prepare medical record documentation in accordance with hospital and company policy.
  • Troubleshoot Equipment: Implement appropriate troubleshooting methods to collect accurate information.
  • Communicate with Team: Establish and maintain timely communication with other members of the neuromonitoring team and provide interpretive data regarding the patient's neurological status during the procedure.
Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
  • Certifications: Registered EEG, EP, or NCST, and certification in one or more of the following: CNIM, DABNM, or BCS-IOM.
  • Experience: One year of experience in intraoperative neurophysiological monitoring, completion of at least 150 cases, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
