Job Title: Children and Youth Ministry Coordinator

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate individual to join our team as a Children and Youth Ministry Coordinator at Pasadena Mennonite Church. This role is responsible for coordinating and implementing programs and activities for children and youth, with a focus on theological and spiritual formation, community facilitation, and leadership development.

Theological Vision

The Children and Youth Ministry Coordinator will provide opportunities for children and youth to explore their faith and develop a deeper understanding of God's love and teachings. This will be achieved through the development and implementation of curriculum, worship services, and other programs that promote spiritual growth and development.

  • Develop and implement curriculum for children and youth that aligns with the church's theological vision.
  • Coordinate worship services and other programs that promote spiritual growth and development.
  • Work with the Worship Commission to develop and implement traditions and rituals that promote intergenerational worship and community building.
Community Facilitation

The Children and Youth Ministry Coordinator will also be responsible for facilitating community building and engagement among children and youth, as well as their families. This will be achieved through the development and implementation of programs and activities that promote socialization, leadership development, and community service.

  • Develop and implement programs and activities that promote socialization and community building among children and youth.
  • Work with the Worship Commission and Lead Pastor to develop and implement traditions and rituals that promote community building and engagement.
  • Coordinate childcare and/or children's programming for special events and activities.
Qualifications and Experience

We are seeking a candidate with a strong commitment to ministering to children and youth, as well as a passion for spiritual growth and development. The ideal candidate will have a bachelor's degree or equivalent in a relevant field, as well as 2 years of experience working with children and youth. Strong interpersonal and organizational skills are also essential for this role.

We are supportive of this position entering licensure if desired. The successful candidate will be required to complete PMC's Child Safety Training, including a criminal background check (Live Scan). We are open to working with students who are looking for college or graduate-level apprenticeship/internship credits for apprenticeships/internships of at least 3 months.
