Position Overview


Responsible for planning, laying out, welding, installing, and repairing various types of structural steel products in accordance with relevant plans, specifications, welding codes, and industry standards.


Experience Level

Intermediate

Key Responsibilities

  • Set up, troubleshoot, and operate welding equipment following job specifications and welding protocols.
  • Preheat and weld metal components as indicated by blueprints, welding symbols, job specifications, or welding procedures.
  • Utilize various welding processes including FCAW-S, FCAW-G, TGAW, GMAW, SMAW, and SAW.
  • Operate tools such as air arc gougers, grinders, stress relieving machines, and other industry-specific equipment.
  • Perform welding repairs and rectify substandard welds.

Qualifications

  • A high school diploma or equivalent may be required, along with relevant experience in the field or a related area.
  • Possess the necessary knowledge, skills, and abilities for the position.
  • Ability to comprehend, follow, and convey written and verbal instructions while communicating effectively with management and supervision.
  • Capable of safely and efficiently using hand tools, power tools, and layout tools.

Requirements

  • Must meet all physical requirements.
  • Possess all required tools.
  • Expected to work at heights and in confined spaces (potentially exceeding 200 ft).
  • Able to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
  • Willingness to work overtime, nights, and weekends as workload demands.
  • Adhere to all safety and project regulations. Additional duties may be assigned as necessary.
