Job Title: Academic Instructor Substitute

Finch Henry Job Corps Center is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Academic Instructor Substitute to join our team. As an Academic Instructor Substitute, you will be responsible for providing instruction to students in various subjects, including Reading, Mathematics, Workplace Communications, Career Success Standards, Health Education, Driver's Education, or HSD/HSE.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Deliver high-quality instruction to students in a substitute capacity, focusing on individual and group lessons to overcome specific difficulties in mathematics and reading.
  • Conduct and manage academic classes, promoting a positive and desirable atmosphere within the classroom setting.
  • Maintain a high degree of discipline within the classroom, ensuring maximum learning and student motivation.
  • Establish a high degree of student/instructor rapport, working directly with career tech instructors to coordinate curriculum development.
  • Utilize all possible curricular resources available at the Center, making adequate preparation for classroom and maintaining students' personal folders.
  • Record attendance in CIS, participate in ESP's (evaluation of student performance), and evaluate student employees' performance in academics and CSS.
  • Work toward meeting performance management goals, following CDSS plan and Code of Conduct system daily, and assisting with quarterly graduation exercises.
  • Comply with all DOL guidelines, OFCCP regulations, Job Corps notices and bulletins, and Center policies and procedures.
  • Maintain good housekeeping in all areas and comply with safety practices, demonstrating and abiding by Serrato Corporation's core values and operating principles.
  • Model, mentor, and monitor appropriate Career Success Standards, participating in PRH mandated staff training.
Requirements:
  • Minimum of one to two years related experience in education.
  • Bachelor's degree in education from a four-year college or university and/or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Certified, licensed, or accredited in the state in which the Center is located or is accredited by a professional trade organization.
  • Valid State Driver's License.
