Job Overview

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Project Manager to join our Solid Waste Engineering team at Civil & Environmental Consultants, Inc. (CEC). As a Project Manager, you will be responsible for leading projects from conceptualization to completion, ensuring timely and within-budget delivery. Your expertise in solid waste engineering, project management, and team leadership will be essential in driving project success.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design, analyze, permit, and prepare drawings, narratives, and technical specifications for solid waste management facilities.
  • Develop permit application documents, contract drawings, specifications, and estimates for landfills, transfer stations, landfill gas to energy facilities, and recycling facilities.
  • Direct field investigations and perform slope stability analyses.
  • General civil/environmental engineering duties, including grading and hydrology.
  • Design various aspects of landfills, including single and double composite liner systems, leachate conveyance and storage facilities, stormwater conveyance and storage facilities, landfill gas collection/treatment systems, and on-site roadways and ancillary buildings and structures.
  • Review projects for compliance with plans/specifications.
  • Ability to interact with clients and manage projects.


Requirements
  • 5-10+ years of experience in the design, permitting, document preparation, and CQA of waste disposal facilities.
  • Ability to coordinate the regulatory agency review process.
  • B.S. in Civil or Geotechnical Engineering (M.S. a plus).
  • Professional Engineer (P.E.) licensure or ability to sit for exam within two (2) years.
  • Ability to use CADD and Civil 3D.
  • Strong project management skills and leadership ability.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills with demonstrated report and proposal writing skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
  • Understanding of business principles of consulting projects and related project delivery tools.
