Overview:

The National Institute for Fitness and Sport (NIFS) is on the lookout for a dedicated individual to step into a vital role within our organization. We are currently seeking substitute Group Fitness Instructors and Fitness Specialists to fulfill responsibilities in our fitness center and lead classes during times when regular staff are unavailable due to various reasons.

Primary Duties:

  • Facilitate group exercise sessions on-site, providing a diverse range of activities tailored to accommodate varying fitness levels while prioritizing safety.
  • Oversee the fitness center, leveraging your educational expertise to offer precise and secure guidance on health and fitness inquiries from members.
  • Conduct orientations that cover facility layout, membership protocols, and Quality Assurance standards.
  • Foster positive relationships with members and work collaboratively with colleagues to ensure the cleanliness and upkeep of the facility.
  • Comply with NIFS Employee Handbook policies and assist with additional tasks as required.

Requirements:

  • A degree in a health-related discipline is preferred, or you should be in the process of obtaining one.
  • Relevant work experience and training are essential, particularly with older adult clientele.
  • Ability to instruct basic balance, chair exercise, and muscle conditioning classes; experience in aquatic fitness is advantageous.
  • Current CPR/AED/First Aid certification and recognized Industry Certifications are mandatory.
  • Willingness to undergo background checks and/or drug screenings as necessary.
