Job Summary
As a Medical Assistant at Derick Dermatology, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and support to our healthcare team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct patient intake and verify patient information by interviewing patients, recording medical history, and confirming the purpose of the visit.
  • Collect and process blood, tissue, or other laboratory specimens for laboratory testing in compliance with CLIA standards.
  • Explain treatment procedures, medications, or providers' instructions to patients in a clear and concise manner.
  • Clean and sterilize medical instruments to maintain a safe and clean environment.
  • Document patient visits and records patient/lab charges for the billing department.
  • Contact patients with lab and path results in a timely and professional manner.
  • Assist providers during patient examinations and treatments, handing them instruments or materials as needed.
  • Clean examination rooms and other work areas, and restock inventory as necessary.
  • Train new employees as needed to ensure a smooth onboarding process.
  • Perform other responsibilities as assigned by management.

Requirements and Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent is required.
  • Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification is preferred.
  • Phlebotomy skills and experience with laboratory testing are highly valued.
  • Esthetic or cosmetology license is a plus.
  • Ability to travel to other locations within the zone as needed.
  • Schedule consists of 3 days of 12-hour shifts per week from 6:45AM-7:15PM and 1 Saturday per month from 6:45AM-12:30PM.
